This entry is in response to a question I received via email. It deals with a variation on the schwa that also exists as a reduced vowel. The paper referenced in this post can be downloaded here. It is a paper by Edward Flemming from MIT and Stephanie Johnson from Stanford.

Check out this site ...
... I think it is a GREAT resource for studying pronunciation. You can slow down videos without the pitch changing, you can loop sections, you can look up words. It's an amazing resource, and I've enjoyed playing around with it.
