This is in response to a comment on a YouTube video. It is a great question because the letters 'oo' can be pronounced as the 'oo' as in 'boo' [
] or the 'uh' as in 'pull' [
EE vs. IH: tense vs. lax
This video compares the 'ee' as in 'she' sound with the 'ih' as in 'sit' sound. If you are not familiar with those videos, I suggest you work through them before this blog entry.
AA vs. EH Sounds
Here I am comparing the 'aa' as in 'bat' (
) and 'eh' as in 'bed' (
) vowel sounds.

Check out this site ...
... I think it is a GREAT resource for studying pronunciation. You can slow down videos without the pitch changing, you can loop sections, you can look up words. It's an amazing resource, and I've enjoyed playing around with it.
