I definitely recommend learning from native English speakers in person or through online sessions, and I think videos such as my own are a great alternative. But sometimes a book can be very useful to have as a reference. I have spent time browsing several books and have put some good ones below.

PBS.ORG - a great resource for interesting videos with transcripts
Example episode: Nova, "A Walk to Beautiful" - the transcript link is in the right column just under the video.
LiveMocha.com - I use this site myself when I want to do some German exercises. Native speakers can comment on the work you submit and help you improve.
English with Jennifer - she covers a wide variety of topics and has very popular videos.
About.com has a good ESL site with original material as well as organized lists of other good resources.
