I'm trying something new.

The best way to work on your accent is to have feedback.  I'm working on ideas to be able to get you more. 

One idea is to have some short clips that you can submit for a quick evaluation.  Video is best, but audio is fine too. 

I'm going to try this out with the following texts.  Record yourself and send it to me for an evaluation like what is below, plus an email with more information and videos to follow up with.

TEXT 1:

Last night I went to a party.  It was great, because I got to see a lot of people that I hadn't seen in a long time.  It was at my friend Megan's house, who lives in Queens.  Our friend John, who now lives in Chicago, was also there. 

I brought a bottle of wine, and Megan had made some food.  It was warm, so we sat up on her roof deck and watched the sunset.  All in all, it was a wonderful evening. 

TEXT 2:

I've got a lot on my plate with school.  I'm meeting with my advisor this week to shape up my dissertation, and I have a lot of papers to grade.  I'm having the students to a collaborative project next week, and there's lots to plan for that.  Luckily Christmas break is in two weeks, and I'll have almost a month off.  I'm going to Florida for a week with some friends.  It's going to be great.
