This website was created to help people improve their American English pronunciation. At the core is a series of videos explaining in detail how each sound is created, as well as a blog.
If you would like my feedback or to work with me 1-on-1 for individual training, there are several options.
1) IN-DEPTH EVALUATION: Send a video or audio clip and get a video response. The evaluation, in addition to explanation, will incorporate the video that you sent to help you better understand your mistakes. Your video might be edited to play short clips repeatedly to help you isolate a sound, it might show your mouth up close, or in slow motion, along with commentary to help you understand changes to make. The response might also include some work with speech-analyzing software.
Price: $100 for my standard text (see below) or for your own text up to 90 seconds.
Example of an in-depth evaluation:
2) BASIC EVALUATION: Send a video or audio clip and get a video response, outlining a few general and specific issues. Not as detailed as the in-depth evaluation.
Price: $50 for my standard text (see below) or for your own text up to 90 seconds.
See an example of a basic evaluation.
3) Send me a short video or audio clip of the standard text or a text of your choice and receive an email response outlining a few problems. This option is free, but I am not able to get to every one that is sent to me! I do my best but when I have a lot of projects to work on I can't reply to all.
These lessons are administered through Skype. It can be a one-time lesson, to evaluate your accent in person, or it can be a series of lessons to drill certain aspects (problem sounds, rhythm and stress, etc) or to check-in on your progress on occasion. All lessons are $40 for a half hour. I invite you set up a time to meet with me on Skype at no charge: just a quick meet, 5 minutes or so to get to know me and for me to get to know you, to help you decide if you would like to have lessons.

Standard Text for Accent Evaluation:
Mary is thirty-one years old. She lives in New York City, where she has lived for 18 months. She got her degree in Fine Arts and now works as a consultant for a marketing firm. She loves Manhattan and all it has to offer. So do her friends, who visit her often. When she has guests in town and it's warm, she might take them to Central Park or to walk over the East River, on the Brooklyn Bridge in the evening. Some of her guests like to shop at the famous stores, like the toy store FAO Schwartz. A few want to see the old churches. It is a pleasure for her to show them the town.
New York is well known for its restaurants. One of Mary's favorite places is a Bar-B-Q joint, Blue Smoke. Her friend James is a waiter there. Sometimes she'll go for brunch because it's fairly cheap.
